Taunton Bowling Club ... is located in the beautiful Vivary Park within easy walking distance of the county town of Somerset. The Club offers high quality playing facilities, a friendly environment and is well regarded for its catering and hospitality. The Club invites bowlers of all ages and experience to enjoy its facilities. We are open to members, the public and welcome the visually impaired or disabled. Future plans include an attractive new entrance providing better access for the elderly and disabled. Our Club is run entirely by volunteer members. The Club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club.

Bowling Activities

We have 6 outdoor and 3 indoor rinks. There is a regular programme of league matches throughout the year on indoor rinks and during the summer months on the outdoor rinks. There are teams in all major local, county and national competitions. Friendly matches are held both at home and away.

Touring Teams

We welcome touring teams and in addition to the excellent playing facilities, we can provide catering from tea and biscuits to full meals, all at very competitive prices.

Social Activities

The Club has a licensed bar, lounge and function room with events taking place throughout the year. These include whist drives, quizzes, social evenings, BBQ’s and a very popular Christmas show with entertainment provided by our talented team of volunteer members.

A newsletter is produced twice a year, “Vivary Social Scene” keeping members informed of future events, features and reports of recent activities.

In February each year a bowling weekend in Torquay gives members a chance to bowl against visiting teams and enjoy good food and entertainment.
