When it comes to bowling at Taunton, there are many options available to you. Whether you choose to come and play for fun or at a more competitive level there really is something for everyone.
We have regular umbrella sessions where you can just turn up and play in a friendly environment. You could play in one of our many friendly matches that take place throughout the year both indoors and outside.
If you are looking for something a little more competitive then there are plenty of opportunities to play:
3 teams in the County league, one being in the Premier 1 Division and 1 each in the South West Divisions 1& 2. We have 3 teams in the West Somerset League and enter The Turnbull Cup, National Double rink and Top Club.
The Club has reached the final of the Turnbull Cup (County) 4 times since 2008, we reached the final of the Wedmore Plate 2015 and were victorious winning it the following year. We won the West Somerset League in 2014.
Over the years we have had many successful National and County achievements, the most recent being James Amery & Pete Shaw winning the National Pairs Championship in 2015 and Runner-Up of the British Isles A number of members represent Somerset in the Middleton Cup and Johns Trophy teams.
The Club enters The Southey, the Fear Cup and the South and West Somerset league.
The Club play in the Somerset County League and enters the Denny Cup, National Over 60’s Double Rink and the County Double Rink.
The Club competes in the Yetton Trophy, the Vivienne Trophy, the National Over 60’s Double Rink and the County Double Rink.
The Club has enjoyed some good runs in national competitions and has won the County Double Rink 3 times and been runner up 3 times. In 2014 the Club won the newly formed South West Indoor Ladies League.
The Club plays in the Egham Trophy and the Somerset and Devon Mixed Fours League, winning it in 2013 and runners up 2014.
We offer a full range of knock-out competitions during both the summer and winter season.
There are many leagues available to play in, both indoors in the summer and winter. They vary from singles to fours and are excellent for bowlers new and old.
